After Sonic X-treme never saw the light of day on the Sega Saturn console, Sonic Adventure was to be Sonic’s first true 3D outing and was highly anticipated on the Sega Dreamcast. Ultimately, while Sonic never made the leap to 3D as smoothly as Mario, Sonic Adventure remains a playable little 3D platformer and one that didn’t disappoint Sonic fans when it was originally released.

Emulators tested

Demul 0.5.8.2 (DirectX 10) – Graphical glitches on menus if “Disable auto sort” is turned on. Graphical glitches in-game especially around light sources, turning off the “Disable auto sort” option helps but doesn’t completely fix it. Occasional audio glitches.

Demul 0.5.8.2 (DirectX11) – Runs significantly better than DirectX 10 mode but still not 100% glitch free. Occasional audio glitches just like DX10 mode too.

Makaron T12.7 – Not tested.

Special configuration options

Turn off the “Disable auto sort” option if possible.

Percentage of game played
